The Austin Amateur Radio Club, AARC, and the Williamson County Amateur Radio Club, WCARC, want to welcome new Hams into the hobby. If you, or members of your community group, would like to become a Ham Radio operators or sponsor a Ham class please contact us.
The Classes are FREE and the only cost are for the books and exams.
At this time we haven't set an exact number on how many students it takes to hold a class. Our goal is to fill every class, your help to recruit friends, family and co-workers helps. We have also set a goal to schedule two entry level Technician license and two General classes so as we start one class we will will schedule another one.
The Technician license is now the entry level into Amateur Radio. The requirement to pass a Morse Code exam has gone away. The General license is now the second level license in Amateur Radio and gives you privileges to operate on the High Frequency, HF, bands and communicate all over the world.
You can order your book(s) from the ARRL and have them delivered to your door, shop your favorite book store, or visit Ausitn Amateur Radio Supply.
